TOURNAMENT PROCEDURES

RULES: Unless otherwise specified, National High School Federation rules will apply.
 
SEEDING:  1A  -  Any member school must play a minimum of 4  contests on 4 separate dates to be eligible to participate in state play-off competition.  Each NCISAA conference with 4 or more participating schools in a specific classification will receive an automatic bid.  The remaining tournament teams will be selected at-large by the Seeding Committee on Sunday, February 17, 2008 at Greensboro Day School.  The 16 team tournament will be seeded. 1A schools playing in a 2A/3A conference will be eligible for selection to the 1A tournament.  The first round will be played at the site of the higher seed. The All-State Selection Committee will meet prior to the Seeding Committee.
  

2A/3A  -  Any member school must play a minimum of 4 contests on 4 separate dates to be eligible to participate in state play-off competition.  Each NCISAA conference with 4 or more participating schools in a specific classification will receive an automatic bid. The remaining teams will be selected at-large by the Seeding Committee on Sunday, February 17, 2008 at Greensboro Day School.  The 12 (2A) and (3A) team tournaments will be seeded.   2A schools playing in a 1A or 3A conference will be eligible for selection to the 2A tournament.  For 2A, the first round will be played at the site of the higher seed.  The remainder of the tournament will be played at a common site.  For 3A, the entire tournament will be played at a common site. The All-State Selection Committee will meet prior to the Seeding Committee.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY:

1) As every contingency can effect games to follow, it is impossible to cover every one.

2) Teams are asked to anticipate weather which may delay arrival and consider traveling the day prior to the scheduled game time. Once teams are in location, it should be possible to continue the tournament.

3) Situations which may delay the progress of the tournament are ranked in order of possible action by the tournament directors:

a) Game start delay.

b) Game played at an alternate site.

c) Two games being played on the same day.

d) Tournament being postponed to include Sunday. Teams involved must agree to play on Sunday.

e) Tournament being postponed to include Monday.

JERSEY COLORS: The higher seeded team will wear light colored jerseys. This may be reversed by mutual consent of the coaches involved. The higher seed will be the home team throughout the tournament.

GAME BALLS: Game balls are the Wilson Solution.

OFFICIALS: Three-man officiating crews will be used in the state tournaments for all three divisions. The finals will have 2 three-man crews for each division - one for the boys' final and one for the girls' final. All preliminary games to the finals will have officiating crews work two games.

ADMISSION: Admission is $5.00 per person on Tuesday, $7.00 on Thursday and Friday, $10.00 on Saturday. Children under the age of eight are admitted free. 100% of gate receipts, after expenses, is due the NCISAA. 

PRACTICE: During the days of the tournament no team may practice in the gym where the tournament is to be played.

COMPLIMENTARY TICKETS: Each team must submit a roster of coaches, players, manager, and statistician. These persons will be admitted free throughout the tournament.

ENTERTAINMENT/TAPING: No team may have half time entertainment by cheerleaders, pom-pom girls, etc. at any state tournament. No video tape or other filming equipment may be used by a team representative unless that team is playing in the game that is being recorded.
