DATES AND SITES:

  

1A:  The first round will be played at the site of the higher seed on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at the site of the higher seed.  The final four teams will advance to J. Burt Gillette Athletic Complex in Wilson, NC  on May 16 & 17, 2008.

 

2A:  The first rounds will be played at the site of the higher seed on May 10, 2008 (or May 9 if both schools agree) and on May 13 at the site of the higher seed.  The final four teams will advance to Fayetteville Academy on May 16 & 17, 2008.

 

3A:  The first round will be played at the site of the higher seed on May 10 (or May 9 if both schools agree) and on May 13, 2008 at the site of the higher seed.  The final four teams will advance to Greensboro Day School on May 16 & 17, 2008.

 

SEEDING:      Deadline for 1A/2A/3A - Wednesday, May 7, 2008

 

TOURNAMENT PROCEDURES

TIES:
Two 10 minute overtimes,
Two 5 minute sudden victory overtimes,
Penalty kicks administered according to National Federation Handbook.

OFFICIALS: Officials will be state certified.

RULES: National High School Federation rules will apply to all cases not specifically covered by the following rules.  For yellow/red card ejections, the NCISAA will follow NCOA rules.

ADMISSION: Unless otherwise specified, admission for NCISAA play-off events is $5.00 per person. Children under the age of eight will be admitted free. 100% of gate receipts, after approved expenses, are due the NCISAA.

1A/2A:    In each division, a member school must play a minimum of 4 contests on  4 separate dates to be eligible to participate in state play-off competition.  For 1A, EIGHT teams will qualify for the state tournament.  For 2A and 3A, TWELVE teams will qualify for the state tournament.  Each NCISAA conference with 4 or more participating schools in a specific classification will receive an automatic bid.  The remaining tournament teams will be selected at large by the seeding committee -  who will also seed the tournament - on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at 1:00 PM at Greensboro Day School..  1A schools who are playing in a 2A conference will be eligible for selection to the 1A tournament and 2A schools who are playing in 1A or 3A conference will be eligible for selection to the 2A tournament.  First and second round games will be played at the site of the higher seed.  The All-State Selection Committee will meet prior to the Seeding Committee.
