RULES Unless otherwise specified, National High School Federation rules will apply.
INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY Teams are asked to anticipate weather which may delay arrival at the tournament site. Traveling on the previous day should be considered as an option when bad weather is likely.
The following scenarios may result and should be ranked in order of possible action by the tournament directors.
1) Game start delay.
2) Game played at an alternate site.
3) Two games played on the same day.
4) Tournament postponed to include Sunday (Both heads of schools must agree in order to reschedule on Sunday.)
* Once the final four teams are named to the tournament, tournament directors are strongly encouraged to determine which teams would be willing to play on Sunday. The tournament may need to be extended to Monday.
JERSEY COLORS The higher seeded team will wear light colored jerseys. This may be reversed by mutual consent of the coaches involved. The higher seed will be the home team throughout the tournament.
GAME BALLS Game balls will be furnished by Wilson Sporting Goods. .The Wilson Wave will be the official tournament ball.
OFFICIALS Three-man officiating crews will be used in for state tournaments in all three divisions. The finals will have 2 three-man crews - one for the boys' final and one for the girls' final. All preliminary games to the finals will have officiating crews work two games.
ADMISSION For basketball, admission is$7.00 per person for first, second and third round games, and $10.00 per person for the championship game. Children eight years of age and under will be admitted free. NO STUDENT TICKETS. Children under the age of eight are admitted free. 100% of gate receipts, after approved expenses, are due the NCISAA.
PRACTICE During the days of the tournament no team may practice in the gym where the tournament is to be played.
COMPLIMENTARY TICKETS Each team must submit a roster of coaches, players, manager, and statistician. These persons will be admitted free throughout the tournament.
ENTERTAINMENT/TAPING No team may have half time entertainment by cheerleaders, pom-pom girls, etc. at any state tournament. No video tape or other filming equipment may be used by a team representative unless that team is playing in the game being recorded.
1A/2A SEEDING Any member school must play a minimum of 4 contests on 4 separate dates to be eligible to participate in state play-off competition. Each NCISAA conference with four or more participating schools in a specific classification will receive an automatic bid. The remaining tournament teams will be selected at-large by the Seeding Committee on Sunday, February 20, 2011 at Greensboro Day School. The 16 team tournament will be seeded. Schools playing in a mixed conference will be eligible for selection to the tournament in their classification. The first round will be played at the site of the higher seed. The All-State Selection Committee will meet prior to the Seeding Committee.
