SEEDING
Sunday, October 23, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Greensboro Day School
GENERAL TOURNAMENT GUIDELINES: See RULES/REGULATIONS page
RULES: Unless otherwise specified, National High School Federation rules will be followed. The 12 player limit is waived. A top of the line leather ball will be used. Rally point will be used with games to twenty-five. The fifth and deciding game will be to fifteen. The libero rule was implemented at the beginning of the 2005 season.
Only matches of 2 out of 3 games or 3 out of 5 games as defined by National High School Federation rules will be used in seeding teams for the state tournament.
Warm-up before any NCISAA match will be twenty minutes. The format will be 5 minutes, 5 minutes, 5 minutes, and 5 minutes.
ADMISSION: Unless otherwise specified, admission for NCISAA play-off events is $7.00 per adult and $5.00 per NCISAA student. Children under the age of eight will be admitted free. 100% of gate receipts, after approved expenses, are due the NCISAA.
OFFICIALS: All classifications will use two officials. Officials must be certified in volleyball by the National Federation. Line judges are authorized for the state tournament.
GAME BALLS: The Soft Touch Volleyball will be the official ball and will be provided by Wilson Sporting Goods.
1A/2A/3A: Each NCISAA conference with 4 or more participating schools in a specific classification will have an automatic bid. The remaining teams will be selected at large by the seeding committee - who will also seed the tournament - on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Greensboro Day School. The higher seeded team will be designated the home team throughout the tournament. Schools playing in a mixed conference will be eligible for selection to the tournament in their particular classification. Any member school must play a minimum of 4 contests on 4 separate dates to be eligible to participate in state play-off competition. The All-State Selection Committee will meet prior to the Seeding Committee.
First round games will be played at the site of the higher seed.
