NCISAA Announces Partnership with AAA Carolinas

April is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month

The North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association (NCISAA) is excited to announce a partnership renewal with the AAA Carolinas Foundation for Traffic Safety. The partnership will include an integrated marketing presence throughout the spring season to promote the AAA Traffic Safety “Disconnect & Drive” campaign and the AAA PROMise program to help educate students and families about the dangers associated with driving while distracted.

As part of the partnership, AAA will once again receive entitlement of the “Take the Pledge” Challenge that will run from April 4 through April 30. Students from all NCISAA member schools will be encouraged to “Take the Pledge” to drive distraction-free by visiting the Disconnect & Drive website (disconnectanddrive.com) and entering their name and school affiliation. The school with the highest percentage of students that Take the Pledge will receive a $500 donation. All students that Take the Pledge will also have a chance to win a $500 scholarship prize.

The AAA PROMise program encourages young drivers and their parents/guardians to talk about the dangers of underage drinking and impaired or distracted driving – especially during prom and graduation season. Beginning April 18, all NCISAA students will be encouraged to visit a dedicated website and “Make the Promiseto not drive impaired or distracted. Students that participate will be eligible to win a $500 scholarship prize and the school with the highest percentage of students that participate will receive a $500 donation.
